Pros and Cons of LCD, Plasma, DLP

Not everyone knows the differences of Plasma, DLP and LCD TV screens. After all, all of these are flat screen displays. There are pros cons of LCD, Plasma, DLP, technologies of flat TV screens that are needed to be weighed against each other to know which one is best suited to one’s wants in a flat panel screen.  We will also look at the difference between flat panel tv wall mounts and lcd tv mounts.

The following are the advantages and drawbacks of plasma TVs.

•    Automatic pixel shift technology is used in plasma TV screens. This technology prevents damages due to burn in, which occur and has a high possibility when a picture stays on the screen for a period of time.
•    Plasma TV screens have an advantage in their color management that allowed these flat screens to be available in larger sizes that other flat screen technologies cannot render. Also, plasma TV screens also have the ability to create better contrast and deeper blacks. As such, customization of color management comes in more options to address the different preferences of people.
•    Plasma TVs are more prone to overheat, and thus have higher risks of having dysfunctional problems in display, especially when there are sudden changes in temperature. As such, some plasma TVs are made to be compatible with high altitudes, but these are more expensive.
•    To maximize that appreciation of the technology, plasma screens are usually available in 32 inches to 63 inches. With its ability to support wider angle of viewing, plasma TVs are also heavier. Because of these, the flat panel wall mount needs a strong wall as a support.

LCD Increase in Popularity

The popularity of flat screens did a great job in preparing the people to get used to seeing only flat screens being sold. As such, the options of people were also diverted to the beautiful designs of flat screens.
Not long after, the flat panel wall mount that used to be linked with CRT televisions before in saving space was also incorporated to further improve the sales in flat screens. People realized that the latest products of technology do appear better with modern look. As such, to incorporate another modernization to the new television, wall mounting was also included in the specifications of newer models. This affected the sales of flat screens as all mounting of televisions before was done by professionals and was quite expensive, too. Also, putting additional option that resulted to the tilt wall mounts stimulated the interest of more people.
Years after, the prices of flat panel screens lowered to make them more affordable to more people. Just like in many other products, widening the target market would mean increasing sales, even if it means lowering down of prices at first. It was during this time that the demand and sales for flat televisions increased. The additional features became another reasons for the usability of the TVs.
Nowadays, while CRTs still do exist, the popularity and presence of flat screens in the malls worldwide speaks for the great sales history of flat screens, which made them able to take over the place of CRT televisions.
